Older offshore jackets, offshore windmills and piled-grouted structures are not designed according to the requirements of the current design code. In some cases, the old codes have proven not to give sufficient safety factor and capacity of the grouted pile / jacket connections.
Our parent company, IK Norway can offer the service of drilling inspection holes for sampling and inspection for verifying the soundness of the grout and the grout connection.
IK have also developed a method for securing existing grouted pile-sleeve connection on offshore jackets.
This method has been used several times for Norwegian clients in connection with repair or reinstating old grouted connection.
The method consists of plugs and/or special made pins, various ROV tools and possible injection alternatives for refilling of missing grout. A special made subsea drilling tool has been developed, drilling through sleeve, concrete and pile in the same operation.
