A major international owner/operator had a need to switch from Intrusive Pig Detectors to Magnetic Pig signallers in a very remote location in Montana near a refinery. The client did not want to run over 500 meters of cable for power and remote indication of pig passage. The position also involved a buried line. The type of communication also had to comply with the operators communication security requirements for interface with their PLC which then communicates with their SCADA.
