OEL’s ultrasound pig signalling systems provides reliable monitoring of pig passage at the point of installation on a pipeline. The signallers can operate in either Active Ultrasonic or Passive detection modes and the system is capable of detecting any type of pig.
The ATEX signallers certified for use in hazardous areas (Zone 1) are designed to enable both fixed installation and portable use. The equipment can be installed on FPSO’s, Oil and Gas platforms, Oil and Gas Terminals, and Refineries.
Increasingly, a more cost effective way to signal pig passage is through non-intrusive technology. The technology incorporates sophisticated signal processing, which provides a local indication of the event, as well as a downloadable event history log. There is never a need to suspend production for maintenance. The cost of interrupting production can be so significant that use of non-intrusive technology can be regarded by budget-conscious operators as more than just a cost saving investment.
